This was a nice Petite Sirah that we enjoyed last night after dinner. It featured big, bold dark fruits with a bit of pepper and spice. The nose was excellent and powerful. The was juicy and delicious and had a pretty long finish. Plus it's organic, which is a nice bonus.

We had the Cupcake Petite Sirah earlier this week and it was just OK...It wasn't nearly as big and bold as I was hoping from a Petite Sirah. Because of this, it fell a little flat for my taste. It was very fruit forward, featuring red berries and some vanilla. There was nothing really wrong with it, but it just didn't hit the spot.

We drank the McManis Family Vineyards Viognier in March and really enjoyed it. So I had high hopes for their Petite Sirah, which happens to be one of our favorite varietals. The McManis Petite Sirah did not disappoint. We drank it last night after dinner. It was a deep purple color in the glass, and featured aromas of dark fruits. It's a big, smooth, full-bodied wine that tastes like blueberries, blackberries, and plums with a hint of chocolate on the finish. The tannins were nice - they really created a tingly, mouth puckering sensation.

I love Petite Sirahs and this one by McManis Family Vineyards is no exception. Great value, great wine.

The Crusher Petite Sirah

The Crusher Petite Sirah was really good. We had it last night with pizza and continued with it after dinner. It had a really good fruit forward taste, with a big nose and long finish. It was a dark purple in the glass and tasted like blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. Nice, full, big body and taste. Krista and I really can't go wrong with a good Petite Sirah.

This wine capped off a great fall day in Safety Harbor. We went to Jackson's baseball game earlier in the day, watched football, picked out some pumpkins with the boys at the pumpkin patch, and really enjoyed the first day of cool weather this year. I don't know how long it will last, but we'll take it!!

To top it all off, UK beat Auburn for the first time since the 1960's...especially amazing since we had to rely on our two backup quarterbacks...Luckily, we still have Randall Cobb. That guy's a beast.

We enjoyed the Concannon Petite Sirah last night with pepperoni pizza. It was really good, with cherry, peppery, smoky flavors. It didn't seem as full-bodied as the Petite Sirah we had recently from Bogle, but was still very tasty and smooth. I didn't decant the wine before drinking it, and after reading some reviews on the internet, it seems like maybe I should have, as it may have opened up a bit more. Even so, we still really liked this wine...Petite Sirah is becoming one of our favorite varietals and I can't wait to try some from other producers.

Wow! We both really liked this wine a lot. This was our first full Petite Sirah. We had a taste of the Concannon Petite Sirah and liked it enough to buy a bottle, which is still on our rack. I picked up the Bogle Petite Sirah after seeing it on sale at Lueken's Liquors. I knew from reading online that Bogle's Petite Sirah was well-liked and very consistent. We couldn't have been more pleased with it. We also really liked the Chardonnay by Bogle, which was also an excellent value.

We drank this wine last night with some turkey filets wrapped in bacon that we seasoned and tossed on the grill. The meal and the wine were terrific and went well together. The aroma of this wine was absolutely amazing...I could have sniffed it all night. The nose was dark fruits, mostly red cherry and blueberry. The color was a deep, dark purple. The taste was delicious - jammy, fruity, and just a little peppery, with nice smooth tannins and a long finish. It had a really nice full mouthfeel that let you know you were drinking a big, full-bodied wine.

The Bogle Petite Sirah is definitely a wine that we will buy over and over again. I can't wait to finish the bottle tonight!
