We enjoyed the Alamos Torrontes last night with Krista's recipe for "chicken Bryan". It was very good, but I remember liking the last Torrontes we had better (from Crios). This bottle was fresh and easy drinking, with a nose of peach and citrus. The taste was similar to the nose, with a little more lemon lime citrus notes coming through. It was well balanced with good acidity.

For $10, there are lots of choices in the South American white wine aisle. The Alamos Torrontes was good, but I wouldn't rush out to buy it again.

About This Blog

The main purpose of this blog is to provide an outlet for my wife and I to keep track of and easily organize wines as we buy them, drink them, and review them. Although we have been drinking wine for years, we really developed a strong interest in wine in the late summer of 2008. From about August of 2008 through mid-March of 2009, we consumed approximately 35 bottles of wine. I have tried to keep track of these wines and our feelings about them, primarily through the use of Excel spreadsheets. I am hoping that this blog will allow us to accomplish some of these goals more effectively and interactively. I briefly summarized these wines in the first post of the blog. Subsequently, I will post more detailed notes regarding our tastings as we look to expand our palates and continue our journey of exploring the world of wine. Along the way, I will try to make notes about my wine-related influences and provide links to some of my favorite sources on the web. Occasionally, I may post about other life events or happenings in the world of sports and music, two of my other passions.
